About us….

Welcome to Kensho Karate Dojo

We are a North London Karate based dojo that teaches Traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu.

Goju Ryu literally means “Hard and Soft style”, which relates to the type of techniques used in Goju Ryu . “Go” being hard, for strong closed hand or straight techniques; “Ju” being soft, for open hand and circular movements.

Kensho Karate Dojo is affiliated with the English Goju Ryu Karate Do Association (EGKA) and also the International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Do Federation (IOGKF) all of which are under world renowned karate master, Higaonna Sensei (IOGKF 10th Dan) and World Chief Instructor Nakamura Sensei (IOGKF 7th Dan).

The primary goal of the IOGKF is to preserve Traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu karate and pass it on to the next generation.
